Quiz 1

Our first short check-in quiz will cover the basic logical concepts we learned at the beginning of the course and symbolization in truth-functional logic (TFL).

The first part of the quiz will concern the logical concepts listed on the vocabulary page, up through “necessary falsehood.” The handful of questions will cover topics similar to the true-false exercise you did. However, there may be one-sentence short answer or word/phrase fill-in-the-blank questions, not necessarily true/false questions. To study for this section, you should review your homework, make sure you’ve read the relevant chapters of the textbook, an review the vocabulary list to make sure you know the definitions for each word listed.

The second part of the quiz will involve symbolization in TFL. You should be prepared, given a symbolization key, to render TFL sentences in natural English and to render English sentences in TFL.

This short quiz will last 20 minutes.
